Ragging is a punishable offence as per UGC Regulations and can lead to expulsion from the institution, imprisonment, and heavy fines. SBS College of Pharmacy maintains a zero-tolerance policy against ragging in any form.

What Constitutes Ragging?

Ragging includes any act that causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm, fear, or embarrassment to a student. This includes but is not limited to:

Physical assault or threat of assault
Verbal abuse, teasing, or harassment
Forcing to perform humiliating acts
Any form of financial extortion

Sexual harassment in any form
Cyberbullying or online harassment
Wrongful confinement or detention
Any conduct causing mental trauma

Punishment for Ragging (As per UGC Regulations)

Suspension / Expulsion

From the institution including hostel facilities

Debarring from Exams

Withholding of scholarships and fee concessions

Criminal Prosecution

FIR and imprisonment as per law
