Reservation Policy

Seat Reservation Guidelines as per Punjab State Government & Union Territory of Chandigarh Policies

The Board shall make admissions to the affiliated institutes located in Punjab and the Union Territory of Chandigarh as per the reservation policy given by the respective Governments. All candidates must carefully review the reservation guidelines before applying.

    Government Policy Compliance

    Admissions to affiliated institutes in Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh are made as per the reservation policy given by the respective Governments.

    Seat Breakup Information

    Break-up of seats for various categories for admission to institutions located in Chandigarh is available in the official prospectus (Annexures II to III).

    Certificate Deadline

    Only certificates issued on or before the last date of filling online registration form will be considered for reservation claims.

  • 4
    No Extension Policy

    No extension shall be granted for certificate submission under any circumstances. Claims without valid certificates will be summarily rejected.

Important: Candidates are advised to get the requisite certificates issued well before the cut-off date. Certificates issued after the deadline shall not be considered and reservation claims shall be rejected.

As per amendment in Reservation Policy, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to increase the Reservation quota/percentage for Backward Classes:

Reservation Categories (Punjab)

The following reservation categories are applicable as per Punjab Government policy:

Scheduled Castes (SC)

Reservation as per Punjab Government norms for Scheduled Caste candidates

Backward Classes (BC)

10% reservation (increased from 5% as per 2017 notification)

Sports Persons

Reservation for outstanding sportsmen/sportswomen as per Sports Department policy

Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)

Reservation for EWS category as per Government norms

Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

Horizontal reservation for differently-abled candidates

Freedom Fighters / Ex-Servicemen

Reservation for wards of freedom fighters and ex-servicemen
